Two kinds. Horizontal agents cover work that looks the same in any business — chasing invoices, routing enquiries, reconciling records. Vertical packs cover the work that only makes sense inside one industry. Most engagements start with two or three, not the whole list.

These sit on top of the horizontal agents. The plumbing is the same; the rules, documents and deadlines are not.
Two categories carry statutory obligations that shape how the agent can be built. We will say so before quoting, not after.
Under TRAI's commercial communication rules, promotional auto-dialled calls must run on 140-series numbers, transactional BFSI calls on 1600-series, calling is restricted to 9am–9pm, DLT registration is mandatory, and every call must map to a registered header and template with DND scrubbing applied. Penalties reach ₹10 lakh with blacklisting. We build these as DLT-compliant, consent-scrubbed systems, or we decline the brief.
VDA service providers must register with FIU-IND under the PMLA, and advertising requires that registration plus the ASCI disclaimer. Those obligations flow through to anything we build for you, so agent design has to account for KYC, record retention and suspicious-transaction reporting from the start rather than as a later layer.
The process audit works out which. It maps where the hours go, ranks what is worth automating, and says plainly what is not.
